Directions to Caernarvon Track Ranger Headquarters

  Starting at the Wilpena turn off on the Hawker to Blinman Road, travel toward Blinman 16.8kms.

  Pass the Oraparinna Airstrip and turn right onto the Wirrealpa / Martins Well Road.

  The Distance from this turning point to the Caernarvon Track entry sign is 25kms.

  Travel 20.6kms to the first cattle grid - you are now entering The Bunkers Conservation Reserve.

  Travel a further 3.5kms to the second cattle grid at the 24km mark.

  A further 1.2kms (at the 25km mark), turn right at the Caernarvon Track sign and follow the arrows to the front gate.
 
  Once at the front gate, open gate and let yourself in. Please close and latch the gate behind you.

  Head South and follow the signs on the track approx 4.5km into the Reserve Headquarters and camping area,  

Conditions Of Entry

  People travelling on the tour need to be on the Reserve between 9:00am and 10:00am on the day of booking.

  Bookings are essential - No eftpos available, cash only.  Cost per vehicle is $60.

  Camping is available for visitors wanting to do the self drive tour of Caernarvon Track, provided a Ranger is on site.

  Camping fees are $20 per vehicle inclusive of 2 adults per night.

  Each extra person is $5 per night and children under 12 years are free.

  Tour is for experienced 4WD drivers - sorry no motor bikes at this stage.
 

  The Caernarvon Track is open all year, subject to weather conditions and availability.
